Expanded Racks/Ghosted Crates

Note: This pertains to expanded crate racks only, not unexpanded crate racks.

Crate Racks Inside Vehicles

When removing crates from an expanded crate rack inside a vehicle, the player must move the crates out of the crate rack and into the vehicle inventory first before unloading them.

Crates in crate racks can be moved between crate racks without issue. It is only when a player unloads them directly from an expanded crate rack in a vehicle to the ground that an issue arises. If the crates are unloaded from an expanded crate rack to the ground directly they become ghosted. The crates appear to be on the ground, but they are actually still in the crate rack.

This then causes a crate rack that seems empty to not be able to be taken out of a vehicle, and a crate rack to be able to hold less than normal because it already has invisible crates inside it.

If the crate rack is empty but weighs more than 6.5kg, it has ghosted crates in it.

Fix

Fix 1: If all crates can be located, move them back into the crate rack they were taken out of, then unload them properly as per the first paragraph at the top of this page. Test if it is fixed by emptying the crate rack to see if it weighs 6.50kg, the normal weight of an empty crate rack.

Fix 2: If all crates cannot be located (because they have been moved around into various other locations), use GM Tool on the crate rack to get its Wurm ID. You can right click the Wurm ID and copy it. Then destroy the crate rack in the vehicle and the crates will drop into the vehicle inventory. Recreate the player's crate rack and set its creator to the player name.

Note that ghosted crates cannot actually be pulled with #loadItem. They will appear to be in your inventory and they will even be able to be dropped on the ground, but they will remain in their ghosted state until either one of the two above are done to clear the crate rack/crate issue. This due to the fact that they are still in the crate rack, despite their visual location.

Use GM Tool to get Wurm ID for any remaining ghosted crates, then #loadItem WurmID. This tests if they are null or not. If they are null they don't actually exist anymore. Null crates will be cleared on server reset.
