====== Age ====== When a creature spawns it is given a random age. Sometimes a creature dies immediate from old age because sometimes the random age meets or exceeds the threshold of dying age. Wild creatures do not have traits (not to be confused with [[creatures#conditions|Conditions]]). Bred creatures are born with traits passed on from its parents and grow from foal stage. Color can be passed on from one of the parents, or it can take on any other color. All creatures age, grow old and die eventually, even vanity mounts. Creatures seem to age at different rates. You can prolong a creature's life indefinitely by caring for it (but there is still a chance of death at some point). The number of creatures you can care for is based on the Animal Husbandry skill. For every 10 skill you can care for another creature. If a creature has the "spark in its eye" trait it will have a 50% longer lifespan. Stages of life: ^ Foal Stage ^ Real Life Time ^ In-Game Time ^ | Young | 3 days | 1 month (4 weeks) | | Adolescent | 10.5 days | 3 months (12 weeks) | ^ Growth Stage ^ Real Life Time ^ In-Game Time ^ | Young | 7 days | 2 months (8 weeks) | | Adolescent | 17.5 days | 5 months (20 weeks) | ^ Mature Stage ^ Real Life Time ^ In-Game Time ^ | Mature* | 14 days | 40 months (16 weeks) | | Aged | 35 days | 10 months (40 weeks) | ^ Old Stage ^ Real Life Time ^ In-Game Time ^ | Old%%**%% | 63 days | 18 months (72 weeks) | | Venerable | 48-365 days | 80-671 months (350-2920 weeks) | * Can be ridden and hitched.\\ %%**%% Hell horses become unruly and unhitch from vehicles during the second half of the Old stage. The only ways to fix the issue are to reduce age using age [[https://freth.us/player/doku.php?id=rune|Runes]], or replace them with younger hell horses.
